Places at St Luke's
St. Luke’s Pre-School operates a first come first serve basis in regard to applications. The sooner the application is received the more likely it is your child will be offered a place. Please note, siblings will automatically go to the top of the waiting list.

If your child is offered a place, we will be in touch at the beginning of the year, before your child starts in September. (It is unlikely that places will become available before September but it is always worth enquiring!) For example, the children who are offered a place for September 2024 will be contacted after February 2024. If you do not hear from us and have been on the waiting list for a considerable amount of time, please do not hesitate to contact us to find out the status of your child’s application.

Fees
At present the cost per session is £19.

A lunchtime facility (packed lunch) bridges the morning and afternoon session on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday and the cost for the lunchtime facility is £5.25 per day. The lunchtime facility caters for up to 20 children. More full days are being considered.

At the time when a booking is confirmed, a payment of the first half of term’s fees or a month in advance regarding your child’s commencement date, will be required to secure their place.
Fees are invoiced to primary caregivers in the first week of every half term and are to be paid by the end of the half term.

The 15 hours of free childcare
St. Luke’s Pre-School offers free childcare places, pro-rata, for those children who are eligible for funding, however, not all sessions are part of the funding offer. Free places are discretionary and subject to availability. This funding covers 15 hours of free childcare and becomes available the term after your child turns three years of age.
St. Luke’s Pre-School splits the funding between 5 three hour sessions. As our sessions are 3 hours and 15 minutes long, an additional cost of £4.64 is charged. This also incorporates the cost of consumables, such as snacks, drinks, nappies, wipes and cleaning products, as well as quality resources, materials and experiences, and additional staffing opportunities that are invaluable to high quality teaching. When available, St. Luke’s Pre-School offers places for children who are eligible for 2 year old funding.
The 30 hours of free childcare
St. Luke’s Pre-School offers places, pro-rata, for children who recieve 30 hours free funding. This is an additional, or extended, 15 hours funding to add on top of the universal 15 hours.

Parents must obtain their code from the HMRC and the pre-school must check the eligibilty of the code before a place is offered. Places are subject to availability.

The 30 hours funding follows the same principal as the 15 hours funding, and covers three hour sessions. As our sessions are 3 hours and 15 minutes an additional cost of £4.64 is charged. This also incorporates the cost of consumables, such as snacks, drinks, nappies, wipes and cleaning products, as well as quality resources, materials and experiences, and additional staffing opportunities that are invaluable to high quality teaching.
